Let’s taco ’bout Tacos. Not just any regular tacos; dessert tacos!
After teasing for months about a franchise opening up in St. George, Sweet Rolled Tacos officially opened its doors this weekend at the Shoppes at Zion.
This new restaurant is part of a small chain that originated in California, and is the first of it’s kind to open in Utah. With the crowds that were never ending during the opening weekend, it’s safe to say that Sweet Rolled Tacos, is changing the ice cream game in St. George.
The Menu
While most of the videos and photos that were seen around social media highlighted their iconic ice cream tacos, we were pleasantly surprised to find that their menu offered a variety of options to meet almost anyone’s taste in desserts!
Rolled Ice Cream
Their Rolled Ice Creams are served either in a waffle cone taco shell, that comes in the color of your choosing, or rolled up and in a cup! The variety of flavors was impressive! A few options available are:
- Mint Oreo
- Strawberry Shortcake
- Matcha Bliss
- Coffee & Cream
- Ube (a purple yam ice cream)
- Honey Avocado
- Rainbow Road
- Birthday Cake
We could go on and on about the different ice cream flavors offered. After you order your rolled ice cream, you can stand along the side and watch as your dessert is made.
Drinks
Not feeling in the mood for a whole bunch of ice cream? Sweet Rolled Tacos offers a variety of drinks, shakes and slushes that are sure to help you beat that St. George heat!
Some of the amazing mixes offered are:
- Peach Lemonade
- Watermelon Slush
- Thai Tea
- Vietnamese Coffee Sea Cream
- Matcha Green Tea
- Matcha Shake
- Melonada (a watermelon slush with chamoy)
- Chamango (a mango slush with chamoy)
- Flavored Teas
Presentation
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about food over the years it’s that it starts with an amazing presentation! We love the layout of the shop and how it offers you a glimpse into how your rolled ice cream taco is made! Watching the process of the creation is half of the fun of being there!
Watch as they start out with the cream base and move on to mix in the flavors and toppings! After your creation is all mixed up, they spread it out into a perfect rectangle to let it cool down a little bit more before rolling it up and placing it gently into your taco shell, or cup if a shell isn’t your thing.
There’s an audible gasp when you get handed your taco, and it’s easy to see why. The presentation starts at the making of your ice cream, and ends with it topped off with each taco’s signature look being placed in your hands!
Over all, our experience while visiting Sweet Rolled Tacos during their grand opening beat our expectations. The friendly staff was more than happy to help recommend flavors. While the lines seemed a bit long just driving by, we were beyond impressed at how fast and efficient they were able to get everyone through and taken care of.
