Cafe Sabor Authentic Tex-Mex Restaurant in St. George, Utah

Cafe Sabor

Tex-Mex Flavor, Southwest Flare

Get ready to Savor the Flavor at Cafe Sabor! This restaurant is actually part of a small chain throughout Utah and Idaho – but is a pretty young restaurant to the St. George scene. A buddy of mine texted me a couple weeks ago asking if I wanted to go to lunch and “catch up”. We decided that we wanted to go somewhere we had both never been before and right there on St. George Boulevard was Cafe Sabor.

Considering the name, location and general theme of Cafe Sabor you might assume it’s another Mexican restaurant. Honestly.. I don’t know that I can say that it is. It’s like this perfect twist of Tex-Mex & coastal, tropical Latin America; booming with flavor – both searing spice and refreshing sweetness. Tex-Mex flavor with Southwest flare.

What’s on the Menu?

We were seated right away when we walked in. Our waiter greeted us with complimentary chips and salsa. Call me simple, but I LOVE it when get a complimentary “starter”. Looking over Tacos, Seafood, Salads and much more; I decided on the Southwest Chicken Wrap, which came with a side of waffle-cut fries. The meal was altogether filling and delicious. I was also served a southwest sauce to go with my wrap and it was the perfect addition of flavor. A chill, strawberry lemonade drink to accompany it, Buen Provecho!

I must say, everything on the menu looked & sounded pretty good. Here are a few that stuck out to me.

Steak Fajitas; Sizzling with onions, peppers and zucchini, rice and beans, guacamole , sour cream , cheese and pico de gallo $14

Mango Shrimp; Sauteed shrimp and mushrooms cooked with garlic and butter. Tossed in a mango citrus sauce and served with rice and beans. $13.50

Chicken Mole; Grilled chicken in a sweet, yet spicy peanut sauce, with a hint of chocolate. Served with grilled plantains, rice and black beans. $12.50

Tierra y Mar Tacos; Steak and shrimp with melted cheese. Topped with cilantro, avocado and onions $4.50

Conclusion

I would say Cafe Sabor champions the flavors of Tex-Mex, the flare of the Southwest and refreshment of the tropics; making it the perfect spot on a hot, sunny day. It may be just slightly on the expensive side, relatively speaking, but nonetheless worth it! Oh and before I forget, Cafe Sabor also Caters AND you can order online! I’m going back there soon!
